Listening to this for the first time -- a lot more Eminem-influenced (in vocal cadence, anyway) than I was expecting, though Xgau's "humorous" tag was probably a giveaway. Haven't had time to pay much attention to the lyrics yet, but they seem to land somewhere between genuine irreverence and inspired M.I.A. sloganeering. Production pretty all over the map, but skews moody electro hooks with accents/details of African instrumentation (as opposed to the other way around, which is what I thought from the description). That's just a first impression though.

Er, "unexpectedly comedic," not "humorous"
It does go other way around musically a bit, though -- maybe it's about even.
